The present invention relates to a device for braking longitudinal wheels, mounted in a frame, rotatable about a horizontal rudder part, comprising a braking element, actuatable via a wire.
Such devices are available in a number of variants, but so far there is no such thing as an efficient device which works well for people with limited hand strength.
According to the invention, such a device is marked primarily by the fact that the brake element consists of an elongate bracket against the wheel, mounted in the frame, forming an I-61 rod and a second arm, the brake element being held in a first wheel braking pressure pressing the second the arm against the wheel by pulling the first arm, which pull is effected by a compression spring acting via a linkage system on the first arm, the brake element being held in a second, wheel releasing layer, by the wire exerting a compressive spring counteracting pulling force, the first arm via the said steering system frees the other arm from the wheel.
Several embodiments are possible within the scope of the invention. It is advantageous to design the elongated stirrup in cross section with a flat roof and two dribblers extending outwardly sloping side walls, whereby things have a braking effect even in adverse weather conditions, such as with sno etc.
In a further flexible embodiment, the steering system consists of a rod element movable in the tube part in its longitudinal direction, rotatably mounted in the outer end of the first arm, the rod element being rotatable via an elongate two arms forming an opening in the tube member.
The device according to the invention is described in the following with reference to the attached schematic figures, of which figure 1 shows a side view of the device, figure 2 shows a view from the front of the device, while figure 3 shows a section of the form in figure 1. 2.
In the figures, longitudinal wheels with 1 mounted in a frame 2, rotatable about a horizontal rudder part 3 are denoted. A brake element 4 designed as an elongate stirrup, valid against the wheel, is in cross section formed with a flat roof 13 and 15. The braking element 4, i.e. the bracket forms a first arm 7 and a second arm 8, rotatable about a bearing 6 in the frame 2. The bracket is held in a first, wheel braking ldge pressing the second arm 8 against the wheel by pulling the first arm 7. This tension is provided by a compression spring 9, which acts via a linkage system 10,11,12 on the first arm 7. The bracket is held in a second, wheel releasing lgege, by a wire 5 exerting a pulling force counteracting a compression spring 9, the first arm 7 via the said link system 10,11,12 the second arm 8 is released from the wheel 1.
The link system 10,11,12 is occupied by a rod element 12 movable in the rudder part 3 in its longitudinal direction, rotatably mounted 13 in the outer spirit of the first arm 7. The rod element 12 is via a length 10, forming two arms 14, 15 rotatable in an opening 11 in the rudder part 5 is actuatable by the compression spring 9. This in turn can be subjected to a pulling force by means of the wire 5, which is connected to a pull handle on a standing walker or similar.

Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the elongate stirrup in cross section is formed with a flat roof (13) and two extending outwardly inclined side walls (14, 15).
